To experience a deep-rooted Prescott tradition, visit the World's Oldest Rodeo. Held every summer since 1888, the rodeo is a local and tourist favorite. That old-fashioned image of the western cowboy isn't just a fable in this part of Arizona.

For additional cultural entertainment, visit the Prescott Fine Arts Association. This site features a contemporary art gallery, family theater, concerts and award-winning stage performances. Original art can be purchased at the on-site gift shop and displays are always changing.

Built in 1864, it is the oldest building associated with the Arizona Territory and is still standing on its original location. The Bashford House is another museum treasure. This Victorian style home currently houses the Sharlot Hall Museum store, exhibiting panels and artifacts detailing the history of the home.

If you are more the outdoors type, visit the Lynx Lake Complex. Just outside of Prescott, this complex is thickly wooded with ponderosa pines, junipers and oak trees. This recreation area is one of the most popular in central Arizona and activities include fishing, boating and camping. There are several trails to interest the hiker, backpacker, or horseback rider and even gold prospecting is allowed.

Watson Lake Park is another outdoor adventure. Canoe, kayak and bicycle rentals are available here and amenities include boat launches, a courtesy dock, showers, restrooms, horseshoe pits, playground equipment and barbecue grills. Spend the morning fishing and hit the hiking trails after lunch. It's the best way to see the natural beauty of Arizona.

Prescott also offers an incredible nightlife. Whiskey Row, once named for the more than forty saloons in the area, is still a vibrant hub of activity downtown. It offers more than twenty live music venues, most without a cover charge. Visitors can expect to enjoy a wide variety of live music from jazz to country and the friendly atmosphere adds to the good times.
